MCHC Health Centers: Linnea Hunter Scholarship Fund

Created in 2017 to honor the organization’s founder Linnea Hunter, this scholarship will support the education of the children and legal dependents of active Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. employees* by providing annual scholarships for graduating seniors and graduates (18-26 years of age) to attend accredited vocational schools, community colleges, or four-year colleges or universities within the United States. Priority will be given to individuals with financial need who demonstrate a history of giving back to their school, community and/or family; exhibit a commitment to public service and/or helping others; and show initiative, altruism and the desire to make the world a better place. A 2.5 (vocational) or 3.0 (two or four-year college) GPA or better is preferred. To learn more about the history of this scholarship, click here.

Amount: $1,000

Requirements: A 2019 Community Foundation online application, including a high school transcript and two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, and/or employers. *We will also accept your paper high school common scholarship application.

Requirements for high school graduates: A Community Foundation online application, resume and two letters of recommendation.

Exclusion: Children of employees who are eligible for the MCHC Health Centers tuition reimbursement program may not simultaneously apply for this scholarship program.
*Those with at least one year of continuous service as of the date of application and who are still employed at the time the scholarship is awarded.
