PRIVACY STATEMENT

This website is owned and operated by the Community Foundation of Mendocino County. Our intention is to inform and educate visitors about our work as a grant-maker, community resource, and philanthropic partner to our donors. The Community Foundation of Mendocino County is committed to honoring the privacy of all those we work with, including visitors to our website and subscribers to our electronic newsletters. When you visit us online, we do not require that you register or sign in to access information or to view our website.

Nondisclosure of confidential information:

Through the normal course of its work, the Community Foundation of Mendocino County’s board, staff, contractors, advisory committee members, and volunteers may be exposed to confidential information about donors, grant-seekers, grantees, and other individuals (including minors) or organizations. The Community Foundation’s board, staff, contractors, advisory committee members, and volunteers pledge to keep totally confidential all non-public information of a sensitive nature and sign a Confidentiality and Privacy Policy to ensure understanding and compliance. Specifically:

  • The Community Foundation of Mendocino County does not provide donor contact information to any outside source.
  • The Community Foundation of Mendocino County protects donors’ rights to privacy and anonymity.
  • The Community Foundation of Mendocino County takes every reasonable step and precaution to ensure that information technology systems cannot be invaded by unauthorized users.
  • Those included on email distribution lists may opt-out at any time by notifying the Community Foundation of Mendocino County staff or opt out links at the bottom of emails.

The Community Foundation of Mendocino County does not share personal information, except as required by governmental entities or the legal process. Personal information acquired through our online grant/scholarship management software, Micro Edge GIFTSOnline, when registering for scholarships or grants, is confidential and not made public.

PUBLIC INFORMATION

Under IRS Code, the following foundation documents are public information:

  • IRS Forms 990 and affiliated schedules for the past three years.
  • Exemption letter from the IRS.
  • Approved application for exemption with supporting documentation.
