Anderson Valley Scholarships

M. Cecil and Alice M. Gowan Memorial Scholarship

Created by Josephine N. Gowan and Cecil and Alice Gowan’s grandchildren and their families to honor their grandparents’ legacy and to continue the scholarship created by M. Cecil Gowan as a memorial to his wife Alice in 1978. This scholarship fund provides an annual scholarship to an Anderson Valley High School graduating senior who will attend a vocational school, community college, or four-year college or university full-time. Priority will be given to students with good citizenship and attendance who participate in extra-curricular and/or community activities and have a GPA between 3.0-3.5. Amount: $800

Requirements: A 2019 Community Foundation online application, including a high school transcript, attendence record, and two letters of recommendation. *We will also accept a paper Anderson Valley High school common scholarship application.

This scholarship rotates awards between male and female students each year. This year the award will go to a male.
