Jane Anderson Developmental Disability Fund

This fund was created through the estate of Gertrude Anderson to support the mission of Special Olympics in Mendocino County and other services for people with developmental disabilities.

Previous grants have supported Ukiah Valley Association for Habilitation hosting a Jane Anderson Memorial Swim Party, Circle of Horses training coastal therapeutic riding instructors, Community Care art programming at TAPS to Turning Point youth, and the Alex Rorabaugh Recreation Center Cycle Without Limits and ABC day programs.

In 2019, the Community Foundation welcomes proposals from non-profit organizations that support people with developmental disabilities and make an effort to improve their lives in a meaningful way.

Criteria:

The program/project must:

  • Promotes the enjoyment of the outdoors and/or physical activity;
  • Demonstrate impact on the individual or the community as a whole;
  • Exhibits the ability to be sustainable by the level of additional funds, resources, and volunteer support associated with it.

Total available funding: $1,500; grant range $500-$1,500
