Blood Bank of the Redwoods

The Blood Bank of the Redwoods Legacy Fund was created when the Blood Bank of the Redwoods closed its doors and was acquired by the Blood Centers of the Pacific (BCP) in 2010. The Fund is intended to create a lasting legacy in the community for the Blood Bank of the Redwoods which had served North Bay communities since 1949. The grant program is jointly administered by the Community Foundation of Sonoma County and the Community Foundation of Mendocino County.  Previous grants have supported Ukiah High School, South Valley High School and Fort Bragg High School in their efforts to increase student participation in annual blood drives, enhancing both diversity and student success in annual blood drive programs.

In 2019, the Community Foundation’s Blood Bank of the Redwoods Legacy Youth Grant program is continuing its focus on ensuring a stable blood supply through outreach, education, and youth engagement.

Total available funding: $14,500; Grant range: $500-$5,000

Deadline for Submission:  This grant program is now closed for the 2018-2019 grant cycle
