Multi-Area

Family Medicine Education for Mendocino County – $5,000

For the purpose of training and four user licenses to pilot a customized care management data sharing system to link multiple human service and medical agencies, with a view to improve connection of users and data to better serve Mendocino County’s most vulnerable residents.

North Coast Opportunities – $10,000

For the purpose of providing bridge funding for the Caring Kitchen project by supporting the salary of the lead chef and kitchen rental space in order to provide more healing meals to Mendocino County cancer patients during April-October 2018.

Seabiscuit Therapeutic Riding Center – $5,500

For the purpose of installation of a Tuff Shed building to create a handicap accessible restroom for clients and visitors.

Countywide

Good Farm Fund – $10,000

For the purpose of hiring a part-time, dedicated Development & Farm Impact Grant Coordinator to oversee GFF Development and Grant Making activities in 2018-19.

Anderson Valley

Anderson Valley High School – $10,000

For the purpose of supporting a pilot of an immersive outdoor summer school program focused on the environment with the goal of boosting English-language skills and academic aspirations for Anderson Valley elementary, junior high (1st-8th graders) and high-school students.

Laytonville/Leggett/Piercy

Long Valley Health Center – $10,000

For the purpose of purchasing a vehicle to assist patients who need transportation services to and from appointments at LVHC and to Specialists or other services referred out of the area.

Piercy Fire Protection District – $7,500

For the purpose of expanding the current entry to the Piercy Community Center to include handicap access and completing interior renovating in order to establish an emergency shelter for the area.

North Coast

Comptche Volunteer Fire Department – $10,000

For the purpose of obtaining and installing a generator capable of running the Comptche Community Emergency Shelter which would provide food, shelter, medical attention, information and communication during a major disaster event.

Fort Bragg Unified School District – $5,500

For the purpose of purchasing a humidity controlled hot holding cabinet for the Fort Bragg Middle School kitchen to improve meal service for students.

Mendocino Unified School District – $9,000

For the purpose of training for two staff members of the Mendocino Unified School District to become Youth Mental Health First Aid instructors, who will then train school staff and community members to recognize and respond to mental health needs.

Mendocino Volunteer Fire Department – $10,000

For the purpose of purchasing, installing and wiring a solar panel system for a new firehouse on Road 409.

Round Valley

BONES Pet Rescue – $5,500

For the purpose of providing tools and equipment for visiting volunteer veterinarians, technicians and veterinary students coming to Round Valley to perform veterinary services for pets belonging to community residents.

Covelo Fire Protection District –$7,000

For the purpose of purchasing pagers for volunteers necessary for emergency response.

South Coast

Coastal Seniors – $10,000

For the purpose of assisting with food costs associated with providing 10,200 home-delivered meals to homebound, isolated seniors living on the South Coast.

Ukiah Area

Boys and Girls Club of Ukiah – $6,000

For the purpose of purchasing and installing 4 12’x20’x7’height metal canopies and 8 wooden picnic tables to be used daily primarily by club members to eat their meals and snacks.

Hopland Volunteer Fire Department – $5,000

For the purpose of acquiring a new fire hose for all the apparatus responding to fires in the Mendocino County.

SPACE - School of Performing Arts and Cultural Education – $10,000

For the purpose of providing bridge funding to hire a Facilities Manager who will develop and implement systems for facility maintenance and management; coordinate SPACE program and outside rental activities and strategically outreach to diversity rental revenue streams.

Willits

Nuestra Alianza de Willits – $4,500

For the purpose of creating a website for Nuestra Alianza and training staff on how to use the site and update it in the future.

Sherwood Valley Band of Pomo Indians – $4,500

For the purpose of providing a garden shed and garden tools to turn a vacant lot into a garden that will supply the community elders and youth fresh produce and teach tribal youth to grow their own traditional foods for the betterment of their health and well being.

Willits Community Theatre – $3,000

For the purpose of underwriting a Children’s Performance Arts Summer Camp Program intended to provide a warm, nurturing, learning environment through the arts, designed to raise children’s self-esteem.

Willits Unified School District – $10,000

For the purpose of constructing a safe walking path from Locust Street to Blosser Lane in order to provide a critical pedestrian access path to this section of Willits connecting Beachtel Grove School, Blosser Lane Elementary, and Sherwood Valley Rancheria.
